our Sunday

So, I am trying to write something every day this month. Easy, right? We'll see. Today, Sam apparently volunteered to be in charge of our ward Christmas party, which is in one month. Any party ideas? So far there will be caroling and Christmas cookie decorations. My bet is, I will be making a lot of cookies in a few weeks.

Next month we're also supposed to go back to America to see family.    So far, our only problem is that our visas (and therefore passports) have not been issued. Or given to us. Something like that. Traveling without them is tricky.

Anyway, a family in our ward wad nice enough to feed us dinner after church. They told us stories about Vietnam and how poor their parents were. They had two huge, friendly dogs and two cats. One of the cats was actually a tiny little kitten. Seriously, the cutest thing ever. Sam and I don't have a yard, but oh, we really want a kitten. They are so cute!  It was easily entertained, with a pen and a string. Really, I love cats.

  1. My husband and I were on the committee last year for our ward party as well. We took it back and did a more spiritual setting that anything Christmas-y. We had everyone dress up like they were from Bethlehem and served pita bread and hummus and gave out little lanterns. The YM and YW also put on a reenactment of the birth of Christ. I was a lot of fun and I think everyone enjoyed it! Good luck with your party!

  2. That's a really great idea. I am absolutely suggesting it...it is always nice to focus on the spiritual, especially at church. Thanks!
