I suppose that a new year does bring new beginnings, even though I can't really say that they always bring happy beginnings. 2013 had its low points, like visa rejections and all sorts of stress about our future, but also plenty of good things, like Sam's sister's wedding and our visits to Boston and fun times together. I suppose January is the perfect time for setting goals and reconsidering where you want your life to go. I'm expecting plenty of changes in 2014: Sam's graduation, hopefully a new job, a move somewhere, and probably all sorts of things we can't anticipate now. So there it is. The end of one year, the beginning of another. We'll celebrate tonight with sparkling drinks and lots of layers (because this cold, rainy weather doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon). Happy New Year and welcome 2014.
